Perfumes FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Do you ship internationally?
From our Perfumes FAQ, this is the first question asked by our international buyers. We currently are shipping only within US, Canada and Mexico and to a very limited extent in South America. Due to your order subject to import duties and taxes, customs policies varying from country to country, we currently ship to countries on an order by order basis. Please feel free to email us at mrandmrsperfume@gmail.com to find out about shipment to your respective country.
What is the difference between Pure Perfume, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, and Eau de Cologne?
The differences are simply a matter of the amount or concentration of oils in the fragrance. The highest concentration is in pure perfume (or Parfum). Next would be Eau de Parfum, then Eau de Toilette, and finally Eau de Cologne. We also manufacture solid perfumes, which is as strong as a pure perfume however it is in a gel-like consistency.
Eau De Toilette and Eau De Cologne are generally interchangeable, especially in Men’s fragrances. The higher the concentration the longer your fragrance will last, and the less you need to apply.
What is the difference between Fragrant Oils/Attar and Fragrant Perfumes?
A major difference between Fragrant Perfumes and Fragrant Oils/Attar is that the Fragrant Oils/Attar is worn directly on your body rather than your clothes. The inside of the wrist, behind the ears, the inside of elbow joints, back of the neck. While Fragrant Perfumes evaporates away quite fast, given Attar’s natural derivation, it lasts a long time. Body heat will only intensify the smell of Attar.
How to Apply Fragrant Oils/Attar?
The recommended way to apply Fragrant Oils/Attar is to dab Attar on to your pulse points (wrists, under ear lobes, sides of the neck etc.) This is pretty potent so a little goes a long way and you do not have to apply in large quantities. Attar can stain clothes, so take care not to apply attar with applicator or roll over your clothes directly. Instead you can apply a little attar on your finger or wrist and then rub it into your skin. Once you have rubbed in, you can then rub the wrist over your clothes to avoid stains on the clothing. Remember to apply only a little! Attars are very strong scent and they last a long time.
What do fragrance notes refer to?
Fragrances comprise of many different scents and these scents are classified as “Notes.” Each Fragrance will have Top Notes, Middle/Heart Notes and Bottom/Base Notes.
Top Notes are very light and last just a few minutes (5-10 minutes). Middle Notes become apparent in about 15 minutes after application. These can last up to an hour or more. Bottom Notes are the heavier ingredients. These last the longest, usually for several hours.
How can I keep my fragrance from going bad?
Keep all your fragrances in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.
